29 January 2021 Ministry of Digital Economy and Society submitted motion to the court asking to block video clip of Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit explaining under the topic “Royal Vaccine: Who Benefits and Who Doesn't?" on Facebook, Youtube and Progressive Movement website claiming that the content might against lese majeste law and effect to National Security. The court order to approve the motion on the same day.
Thanathorn filed an objection saying the content does not fall under Section 14(3). It is just a criticism against the Covid19 vaccine acquisition of the government. The court examined witnesses from both sides and ordered to revoke the previous order. The court given that to interpretation the word 'effect to national security' must be strict and objective. The fact that Thanathorn mentioned only the King owns the company does not damage his majesty reputation or to expose the King to be hated or scorned.
