Phayao: Mother of May 2010 crackdown victim demanded for justice

On 10 December 2018, Phayao who was mother of a nurse who was shot to dead during the demonstration crack down in May 2010 organized a symbolic activity to demand justice for the victim after there were information indicated that the criminal prosecution against state officials who may involved in the incident were interupted.
While the activity at the Democracy Monument was proceed, police taken Phayao along with other 3 activists under their custody and brought them for inquiry at the Samranrat Police Station. Phayao was informed charge under Public Assembly Act for not notify authorities regarding her activity in advance. Phayao denied the accusation.
In January 2019, the presecutor filed case against Phayao to the Dusit Provincial Court. Later in February 2019, Phayao pleaded no guilty to the court. Witnesses examination of this case were proceeded between 16 to 17 May 2019. Later, on 19 July 2019 the Dusit Municipal Court found Phayao guilty and fined her in the sum of 1,000 Baht for not notify public assembly to the police under Public Assemby Act 2015
