9 suspects have been accused of lèse majesté and Article 14 (1) of the Computer Crimes Act, for communicating via social network to plot an attack on the ‘Bike for Dad’ event, and planning to assault 2 political figures. Suspects have been detained in a special prison in a military base where lawyers were threatened when trying to visit.
Thanakrit, one of the suspects, was charged with an act committed while he was being detained in prison under another case. Thanakrit’s lawyer and military officers filed a defamation and perjury charge against each other. Chatchai, another suspect, was arrested and released while his twin was arrested instead.
Later, 5 suspects have been charged for talking while detained in the prison. The accusation does not in volve with Bike For Dad activity. The case then transfer to be tried in Khon Kaen Military Court. The trial went very slow while the defendants was detained until the NCPO order to abloish the jurisdiction of miliyary court.
