Pipath, a private from Phitsanulok Province who is currently working in Lopburi Province, was charged with lèse-majesté at the Samut Prakarn Provincial Court. Uraporn Suntornpodj, a citizen living in Samut Prakarn Province, reported the case to the police at Bangkaew Police Station.
She claimed that Pipath posted, to the "Royalist Marketplace" Facebook group, a photo of King Vajiralongkorn and Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti doctored with a message deemed to be a lèse-majesté offence. After the case was reported, Pipath had to travel from Lopburi Province to Samut Prakarn Province to be present and tried for the case.
The Samut Prakarn Provincial Court proceeded with a witness examination in August 2022 and then dismissed the case on 26 October 2022, on the ground that there was a reasonable doubt whether the evidence of the prosecution had been doctored.
