On 27 April 2016, activist group called Resistant Citizen announce to organiz symbolic action "Just Standing" at the Victory Monument to demand for the release of 9 individuals who were abducted and held under military custody in the early morning of the same date. Initially, the authority inform that the 9 individuals were held after they committed offense under Computer-related Crime Act.
Activists of Resistant Citizen including Anon Nampa and other interested individuals arrived at the Victory Monument arround 6.00 pm. Later around 6.30 pm the police arrested and brought 16 participants including Anon to the Phayathai Police Station. The police later informed all 16 that only Anon will be charge for not notify public assembly to the authority while other will be release without charge. It also need to note that while 16 participants were held at the police station there were military men presented at the station to brought Burin, one among 16 participants under their custody. Burin was later charge with Lese majeste.
As for the case, Anon denied all charge and chose to defense his case in the court. Witnesses examination were conducted on 20 and 21 October 2016. On 22 December 2016, the Dusit Municipal Court render a verdict of the case, it found Anon guilty for not notify concerned authority regarding the organizing of public assembly under Public Assembly Act and fine him in the sum of 1,000 Baht.
